About the YoyoFactory 888 Yo-yo
The YoyoFactory 888 Yo-yo. The first version was called simply the 888. In 2008 a new, improved version was released, called the 08 888. Now appearing is the latest release for 2009, the 09 888.

All of the yo-yos on this page are versions of the 888. The older versions will not be produced again and are left here for reference.

Please note that special editions (such as the Yuuki Quake 888) are limited runs of the yo-yo and are only produced and sold once. Once they are gone, they are gone.

Trends come and go, fashions change. eight8eight is still the benchmark.
The 2009 styling reflects a change away from hubstack play. To reflect this more weight has been added to bring the unstacked weight to a more acceptable XXgm
Lessons learnt in the highwall experiments (and with the skyline) are evident in the 2009 shape. The increased stability now allows for the use of Z-stacks inverted and regular).
Other areas of change, stack play is overall smoother and a new spec stack bearing creates phenomenal spin times. The response area remains the same but a new stock pad has been developed in conjunction with Kentaro Kimura of the YYF Contest team.
This pad was used by the top two place getters at the 2008 World Yo-yo Contest Single A division. The small bearing version is also back in 2009 featuring a smaller diameter traditional Kentaro pad response.

This is a very advanced yo-yo and like all yo-yo's it will require some maintenance. For example, you will need to periodically clean and lubricate the bearing, and replace the pads when they wear out. Please do not buy this yo-yo unless you are able and willing to do this maintenance. Please see our Yo-Yo Help Section for more information. These yoyos are not suitable for children under 12 and should not be purchased for them. Note - the hub stack colour may vary.
